Procedure
The preparation process
To renew a work permit, for foreigners who have been permitted to work must apply before the work permit expires at least 30 days as the case. Foreigners can continue to work until the registrar issues an order not to renew the license by renewing the work permit with the following steps:
- Foreigners renew their business visas at the Immigration Office in Bangkok or the provincial Immigration Office in the area.
- Prepare documents as specified by the Department of Labor including a work permit renewal application and applying for a renewal of the permit at the Bangkok Employment Office Area 1-10 or the provincial employment office in the area.
- If the registrar considers and signs permission, foreigners can pick up work permits on the date and time that the staff has appointed.
In the case of an extension of the work permit has been submitted but is not permitted, foreigners have the right to appeal by submitting in writing to the Director-General of the Department of Employment within 30 days from the date of acknowledgment of the refusal order and when receiving the appeal recipients, they will refer the request to the work permit committee within 15 days, whereby the minister will decide the appeal within 30 days.
