Visa is an important evidence in applying for permission to travel to the country. Types of Visas
For visas, there are several types:
- Transit Visa is a visa for people traveling through the kingdom is valid for 3 months and can stay no more than 30 days at a time.
- Tourist Visa is valid for 3 months or 12 months, stay no more than 60 days at a time.
- Non-Immigrant visa is valid for 3 months for single travel or 1 year for multiple trips. You can stay no more than 90 days at a time.
- Courtesy Visa is valid for 3 months or 6 months, staying no more than 90 days at a time.
- Long Stay O-A , O-X is nonimmigrant visa for long-term stay in the Kingdom is valid for 1 year for single travel or 10 years for multiple trips.
- Diplomatic Visa, staying no more than 90 days at a time.
- Official Visa, staying no more than 90 days at a time.
Visa process
In applying for a visa, applicants can proceed through 3 ways:
· Applying for a visa through an embassy or application center
Applying for a visa at the embassy or visa application center is the most basic way to apply for a visa. The applicant must prepare documents to be ready and travel to the location specified by the embassy by yourself or authorized agents, known as visa application centers, are now preferred by many countries, operator of the delivery of documents and information without the applicant having to go to the embassy in person, such as European countries but some countries have to do it through the embassy only, such as the United States of America.
· Applying for a visa online
Currently, some countries allow applicants to apply for a visa online through the local government agency instead of submitting documents that may have location restrictions which includes submitting all online systems and then waiting for the results via email. Then, submit your passport to receive a stamp via post and submitting a request online before going to the embassy or visa application center again for an interview or additional information. This will all depend on the requirements of each country.
· Applying for a visa through the airport of destination
Some countries have special requirements for Thai tourists that is applying for a visa at the airport of destination or Visa on Arrival, where the applicant does not need to make any visa applications in Thailand first because when you arrive at the airport of destination, you can immediately submit documents to get a visa stamped at the airport and there is also a visa fee. For countries that don’t require a visa, just submit your passport through the immigration checkpoint and you’re done.

- Transit Visa for people traveling through the Kingdom, fee 800 baht. (up to 4 times)
