What is the difference between a Work Permit and a Visa Non-B?

Information required to apply for a work visa
Documents required for work permit extension visa in general are as follows:
- Petition form
- Copy of foreign passport
- One photograph of size 4 x 6 cm. or size 2 inches.
- Fee 1,900 baht
- Letter explaining the necessity of employing foreigners
- Employment Certificate (According to the form of the Department of Employment)
- Copy of juristic person registration certificate (Show original)
- Copy of juristic person registration certificate (Show original)
- Copy of VAT registration certificate and the list of shareholders (PP. 01 and the capital increase memorandum) (show original)
- Copy of the latest year's financial statements certified by the Ministry of Commerce or the Revenue Department (In case of submitting a copy, the director must sign and affix the company/Partnership seal all editions)
- Copy of corporate income tax statement (PND 50) certified by the Ministry of Commerce or the Revenue Department. (In case of submitting a copy, the director must sign and affix the company/Partnership seal all editions)
- Copy of educational evidence and proof of foreign worker's passing certified by the embassy.
- Copy of individual corporate income tax list of Thai employees (PND 1) (for the past 3 months with a list of all Thai employees attached)
- Letter requesting cooperation from the Office of the Board of Investment Industrial Estate Authority or Petroleum Authority of Thailand (In case of receiving BOI promotion)
- Show the company's photo to show the building, company nameplate, working conditions in which employees are working, desks in a company or building or warehouse showing the nature of work 6-7 pictures.

The preparation process
1. Apply for a business visa (Visa Non-B) valid for 90 days from the Thai Consulate or the Immigration Office in Thailand.
2. Once the visa has been received, please hurry to apply for a work permit (TT. 1), valid for 1 year at the Department of Employment within 30 days.

- A letter explaining the necessity of hiring foreigners to work and asking for cooperation in applying for or requesting to change the type of visa. - Certificate of Education and Work Experience (Form STM.4) (Attach a copy of ID card with witness signature)
- Copy of withholding income tax statement for Thai employees (PND.1) (for the past 3 months with a list of Thai employees from the 1st to the last, must be certified by the Revenue Department with receipt)
- Letter requesting cooperation from the Office of the Board of Investment, Industrial Estate Authority or Petroleum Authority of Thailand (In case of receiving BOI promotion)
- Show a color picture of the company, photograph the building, the company nameplate, working conditions in which employees are working, desks within the company, buildings or warehouses which shows the nature of the job, about 6-7 photos. Foreigners must take a photo with the committee and attach a copy of their ID card, director with signature (If the director is a foreigner, attach a copy of passport and work permit)

The preparation process
1. Apply for a Non-B visa at the Thai embassy or consulate in the foreigner's country or apply for a change of visa to be a Non-B non-immigrant visa to the Immigration Office in case of foreigners have traveled to Thailand. by holding a tourist visa, transit visa, Pr.30, PP.30 and PP.90.
2. After receiving the visa as a Non-B visa, you must apply for a Work Permit with the Department of Employment, Ministry of Labor. The staff will give a work permit for how long will consider granting permission according to the necessity of the work or as requested and depending on the performance of that workplace, for a period of not more than 2 years at a time, which is usually given by the staff for a period of 1 year.
3. When a work permit is obtained, can apply for a non-B temporary visa extension to the Immigration Office for a period of stay in the Kingdom for a period of 1 year, which must be submitted 90 days prior to the expiration of the visa. In case of the foreigners have not traveled to Thailand, Employers can apply for a work permit or work permit on behalf of the employee first. Foreign (employees) must show up and receive a Work Permit within 30 days.
4. After obtaining a work permit and a 1-year Non-B visa, the foreigner must report to the local immigration office every 90 days to report to the local immigration office in case of traveling outside the country before the due date of the next appointment, when returning to the Kingdom to report to the next residence after 90 days from the date of the last entry into the Kingdom.
